Complete and utter darkness.
The first thing to come back is the sound. I hear birds chirping. I hear the wind gently caressing the grass, playfully. And then I can feel it. I can feel the wind tasting my skin. I feel the warm rays of the sun upon my face.
Familiar. This all seems familiar in a way…
Grass. I can smell the grass now and it smells good. The air has a clean and sweet smell to it, like I haven’t tasted in a long time.
Familiar. It still seems so familiar…
And there is light. I can see it past my eyelids, taunting me playfully to open them, to take in the sight of this peaceful place and let it fill my senses. I open my eyes and take in the staggering scenery: green flieds as far as the eye can see. Mountains outline the far distance, like fortress walls, guarding this peaceful place from the world and its taint.
And then it hits me. The familiar feeling of this place, I’ve been here before. I raise a hand to my face to see if my suspicions are true. Fur. Soft, short fur covers my face. With both hands exploring now, there is fur everywhere. And horns. Why do they feel smaller then they should?
This is just like last time, but… no. Not like last time. I have once more possessed the body of a tauren. Yes. But this is not like with the Cow with Guns that is last visited. This must be what it feels like to be a female tauren. Fantastic. I love it already! The sensation of this body couldn’t be further from what I now have grown accustomed to with Aendi. Change. Finally, some well needed change.
I will call this one Cow with Bark. And I will use her for the utter advantage she has over any other Horde vessel I could have chosen: she is the only one that can unlock the tongues of the druids and persuade them into teaching her the Ways if the Druid.
I will no longer only be a traveller from body to body, but also a master of the shapes. I will be able to shift form however I see fit.
This is freedom.
I am reborn.
